PINK HOUSE PROJECT
BUDAPEST 2006
22 June – 8 July 2006
Photographs by Gabor Gerhes and Lea Dietrich
In May 2006 Gabor Gerhes went to Bremen and Lea Dietrich to Budapest within the framework of the Pink House project. The mission was to chart the scenes of the other’s life and to create works out of the first impression about the city.
Gabor Gerhes (Budapest, 1962) is an artist and plays an important role in Hungarian and international contemporary art. His characteristically absurd works are significant in contemporary Hungarian art.
After graduating from university Lea Dietrich (Freiburg, 1977) spent a year in Burkina Faso (West Africa), then she attended the Art Academy of Hamburg. In 2003 she received a scholarship for study abroad in Marseilles. She produces photographs, videos, animation films; she designs stage, scenery and costumes.

Contraction – video installation by Eike
Projected on a curved surface, a solitary man is walking across a field. The perspective is gradually opening up, hundreds of runners are flocking from a hillside, their path is crossed by the walker. Then the mound becomes the crown of an apple tree; at the end of zooming in, one of the beams of light appears to be a spider.
